Making on the South Coast

In 2018, I took myself back to school to study 3D Design and Craft at Brighton University. It seemed to make sense; I was still using my hands working alongside the coffee industry, and able to translate a long love for the 2D image, in film and photographs, into the three dimensional.

It was here that objects and making became the focus. Throughout those years I became heavily driven by the language of, the philosophy of, and the making of objects which we use and co-exist with. Post-study I dove straight into making for my own pleasure and for sale, continuing my education through peers and on my own. I hosted my first market stall in 2021 in Rye, and haven’t stopped.

In October 2023, I officially left the coffee industry to pursue the endeavour.

Objects are intrinsic to our existence, we exist among them, use them daily and must have a pleasant life with them. I keep this in mind, and approach objects which marry to a slow and considered lifestyle. Always using sustainable materials, and a combination of traditional and modern processes.
